Arafura’s extended Tiwi Charter offers the ultimate fishing experience in the Top End with reef, sport and salt water barramundi fishing all in the one trip! 

You will depart Cullen Bay at 7am and fish all the way from Darwin to Port Hurd at the Tiwi Islands, 80 mile north of Darwin. This charter opens up a huge area of remote territory fishing with rich grounds home to Red Emperor, Golden Snapper, Blue Line Emperor, Black Jewfish, Coral Trout just to name a few.

There will be some trolling thrown in to give the arms a rest with the chance to tussle with some Pelagic fish, including large schools of Spanish Mackerel, Tuna or land a trophy Sailfish.

Run on Category 5, our 11 meter powerful Outlaw cat, this charter offers the next level of comfort featuring a large fishing deck area, toilet, fridges, comfortable seating and a double bed in the cabin if needed. Once you get to Tiwis, pull up for the afternoon and enjoy dinner and a comfy air conditioned room in the fishing quarters at the luxurious Tiwi Island Retreat.

On day 2 you will be taken on a full day estuary fish aboard one of the retreat’s custom built Barra boats with an experienced local guide. Traverse through the famous Tiwi channels targeting barramundi, thread-fin salmon and mangrove jack. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included as well as your second night’s accommodation.

A 7am breakfast with takeaway lunches packed, you’ll jump on the Cat and fish all the way back to Darwin, arriving at 3.30pm back to Cullen Bay.

All rods and tackle is provided however if you wish to bring along your own gear we suggest a minimum of 50 lb braid, a good jigging outfit and some Gulp soft plastics will add to the fun whilst drifting the shallower grounds.

All fishing, meals and accommodation is included as well as alcohol when staying at the retreat. BYO alcohol will need to be packed for the cat boat trip over and back.
